BNSF Siding Extension
Ardmore, Oklahoma

LJA provided design and construction management services for capacity improvements along the Red River Subdivision. The project included a new mainline track and converted the existing mainline to a siding. Originally, the intent was to design a new siding. Track geometry, mainline subgrade irregularities, creek erosion, signal crossing, and bridge locations led LJA to design a new mainline and utilize the former main as a siding. The end result was a mainline with new materials, optimized railroad geometry, improved signal locations, improved drainage and erosion protection. The new track provided 8,600-TF of clear siding capacity. LJA’s design services included all track design, drainage structures, grading, right-of-way exhibits and all required permits. LJA also was responsible for the surveying and geotechnical investigations.
